In a major national effort to strengthen civic education and restore patriotism among young Americans, the U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with America First Policy Institute (AFPI), Turning Point USA, Hillsdale College, and over 40 other organizations, has announced the formation of the America 250 Civics Education Coalition.
This initiative, launched on Constitution Day, marks a significant move to prepare the next generation of Americans with a deep understanding of the nation’s founding principles.
What Is the America 250 Civics Education Coalition?
The America 250 Civics Education Coalition is a nationwide initiative aimed at reviving civic pride and knowledge ahead of the 250th anniversary of the United States, which will be celebrated in July 2026.
The coalition’s goal is to equip students with the knowledge, values, and sense of responsibility needed to become active, informed citizens.
With support and guidance from U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, the coalition will lead a series of educational programs, events, and campaigns over the coming year to bring America’s founding ideals back into classrooms and communities across all 50 states.
